Momentum for S60 3rd Edition

The S60 on Symbian OS platform turns mobile devices into highly personalized mobile computers with a great user interface. Mobile devices running on S60 provide users with an experience beyond just voice calls and basic applications. In fact, approximately 4% of mobile phone users (Source - Synovate) are already actively downloading applications - from games to email clients to photo editors. The potential for growth from applications is one of the many reasons that the majority of operators around the globe are selling S60 devices today.

The time is right to innovate

In February 2005, the new S60 Platform 3rd Edition for Symbian OS was launched. With its improved 3D support, scalable UI, security, and enhanced multimedia features, it provides an improved platform for developers to build applications upon.

50+ million S60 devices were shipped by Nokia alone by end of February 2006*. That means millions more devices, and millions more consumers, are waiting to buy the latest and most innovative applications and services. S60 3rd edition devices like Nokia 3250, N80, N71, N91, N73, E50, E60, E61, E70 are already shipping and many more are expected in 2006.

For developers, the time has never been better to build your offerings on the world's leading smartphone platform! So isn't it time you were part of the Mobility Movement?
